Transportation

Madrid (12/31–1/3)

Madrid recs (from will)

Cool places to check out:

• Palacio real

• Museo del Prado or National Archeological Museum, pretty cool museums, not sure if you’re interested

• Mercado de San Miguel — cool indoor market, pretty touristy but super nice

• Chocolatería San Ginés — awesome 24 hour/late night churro place. You can get churros and chocolate for pretty cheap and it’s right near the center of the city

Tapas places/bars

• El Tigre — cider bar that gives you insane portions. Like €5 for a big cider and so much free food with it

• Most restaurants are generally really good, they typically have a Menu del Día which is a three course meal, probably for like €10–15, usually super worth it

Clubs

• Kapital

• Joy Eslava

Other stuff

• Lavapiés is the super grungy neighborhood where there’s a ton of street art and tattoo shops and things

• Plaza de 2 de mayo was a big meet up spot for young people in the city to drink and have fun at night. But that was a few years ago so not sure if it’s certain nights only (maybe tuesdays or wednesdays idk)

Oh also Parque del Retiro (super iconic) and Horchateria Alboraya has amazing horchata and definitely worth a visit

Granada (1/3–1/5)

  • Itinerary:
  • Check out La Alhambra. Visit the Generalife Gardens. Catch the sunset at Mirador de San Nicolas (panoramic view of Granada)
  • Take a Granada Tapas Walking Tour or this Gourmet Tapas Tour
  • Check out Sacramonte — they have cave houses!
  • Get lost in the Muslim quarter at Albaicin
  • Watch a Flamenco show at Cuevas los Tarantos or Zambra Maria La Canastera
  • Drinks at Monasterio Chill-Out Copas

Seville (01/5–1/7)

  • Accomodation:
  • Itinerary:
  • Catedral de Sevilla looks kinda hot at night
  • Check out the Santa Cruz neighborhood for food and drinks
  • Plaza de Espana at golden hour *chefs kiss*
  • Climb Metropol Parasol
  • Mercado de Triana looks like diff city
  • Day trip to Cordoba: geek out on history and culture shit
  • Day trip to Ronda: a must-do as this town is literally on a mountaintop. Apparently these people (used to) have the largest bullring in Spain
  • Day trip to Jerez de la Frontera: sherry-tasting and getting fucking blasted
